ATAS

Founded in Rochester, New York in 1963, ATAS International, Inc. is a family-owned business that has grown from a small-scale siding, and trim company to a national leader in manufacturing metal panels for building envelopes. Now based out of Allentown, PA, and Mesa, AZ, ATAS maintains four ISO certified manufacturing locations, all in the United States. Though originally specializing in aluminum products, ATAS now produces roofing materials, and wall cladding in steel, zinc, stainless steel, and copper as well. In recent efforts to improve the sustainability of its manufacturing facilities, ATAS has reduced its yearly waste by 700,000 pounds, and has installed new light, and heating systems to improve energy efficiency. Many ATAS products may contribute to LEED credits, and/or be ENERGY STAR qualified.

SYSTEM: METAL ROOFING

ATAS offers standing seam, and batten seam roof systems, as well as metal shingles, shakes, and tiles. Its standing seam roof panels are solar ready, making it easy to attach photo voltaic systems without roof penetrations. Where possible, ATAS roofing products are also coated with a cool pigment paint that reflects infrared radiation. This allows the color to appear the same but keeps the material cooler, lowering the building’s interior temperature and reducing bills for air conditioning. Certain ATAS roofing systems also incorporate above-sheathing ventilation, which can significantly reduce roof and attic temperatures. By allowing cool air to flow through a space between the roofing deck and panels, above-sheathing ventilation can reduce heat gain by up to 45%.

SYSTEM: WALL PANELS

Standard profiles for ATAS wall panels include ribbed, corrugated, tiled, and perforated. Panels can also be curved, or tapered, with fasteners exposed, or concealed. ATAS wall panels are available in over 30 standard colors, and textures for flat panels can be either smooth, or embossed to mimic a masonry stucco wall. ATAS also produces perforated solar air heating, and drying panels, which are mounted a few inches offset from exterior walls to reduce cooling load in the summer, and create heat in the winter. Insulated metal panels are also available, with optional fire resistance ratings of on, two, or three hours.
