MANUFACTURER: CERTAINTEED

Founded in 1904, CertainTeed was for years known as the nation’s premier asphalt shingle manufacturer. Its name, borrowed from the company’s original slogan (“Quality made certain, Satisfaction Guaranteed”), reflects the reputation CertainTeed has since developed across the exterior building products industry. After acquiring fiberglass and PVC manufacturing capabilities in the 1960s, CertainTeed expanded its offering to include solid vinyl siding. It has since developed celebrated polymer and polyurethane composite systems that provide the look of wood without any of the drawbacks of using natural building materials. A subsidiary of Saint-Gobain, one of the world’s largest and oldest building products companies, CertainTeed operates more than 60 manufacturing facilities throughout the United States and Canada. Based in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, CertainTeed and its affiliates employ more than 5,700 people.
