Chelsea Building Products introduced its Everlast advanced composite siding and trim line in 2009, and these specially formulated extruded planks have since become a favorite alternative to fiber cement and wood. Because Everlast seams are butt joined and do not overlap (like vinyl siding), their appearance is much closer to traditional building materials. But unlike cedar, Everlast is UV, water, and insect resistant, and is guaranteed to never swell, bow, rot, expand, or contract. Additionally, Everlast does not ever need to be painted or caulked, and will shine with its original luster after only light washing. Everlast is made from a proprietary mixture of polymeric resin and granular stone. As they contain no wood, Everlast boards and trim will never have to be replaced because of weather damage.
